Local Woman Dies in Fire

TERRE HAUTE, In (WIBQ)-An elderly New Goshen woman died Sunday after fire engulfed her home.

The call came in just before 1:30 Sunday afternoon.

Fire crews reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the home on North Funkhouser Place.

Neighbors told dispatch they feared an elderly woman was inside at the time of the fire.

Several fire departments responded to the home to put out the fire.

The cause is still under investigation. The name of the deceased has not been released.
